World War I Nurses of Clay County

From front line field hospitals to schoolhouses converted to emergency influenza wards, nurses risked their lives to save others during World War I and the Spanish Flu pandemic. This presentation by Markus Krueger of the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County will follow women from Clay County, Minnesota, who served in the Red Cross, the Army Nurse Corps, and local hospitals in America, France, and Russia a century ago. This event is brought to the community free of charge thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
