Jack Pearson Bio:
Hi! I’m Jack Pearson. As long as I can remember I’ve been in love with the meaning of things. I’ve been busy delivering music/story experiences of imagination, spirit, folklore and history full-time for thirty years now. I play guitar, fiddle, 5-string banjo, mandolin, dobro and an assortment of small percussion instruments including my one-and-only amplified toy box lid. I’m a songwriter with one foot in our American folk tradition but the other joyfully lost in the landscape of imagination. I weave music with stories original and traditional and perform for kids, grown-ups and family groups in the Upper Midwest and around the country. I work often with K-6 kids in schools both as a performer and resident artist. I also work closely with churches and faith-based groups helping facilitate worship or doing a concert for the kids or families. Summer finds me as musician-in-residence at Mount Hermon Conference Center near Santa Cruz, California, but I live way up on the upper Mississippi in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I make good pancakes, love to read, and wear suspenders a lot. I’ve been married for over thirty years to Nancy and we have two cool kids: Peter and Kari.

Anansi the Spider is a master of trickery. Using a rock that has magical powers, Anansi tricks the Elephant, the Rhino, the Giraffe and even the Lion out of their suppers. But when Anansi tries to trick the clever spotted Deer, the tables are turned…

CLIMB’s theatre artists write, produce and present plays and drama classes on topics like bullying, self-control, respect, friendship, acceptance of differences, methamphetamine-use prevention, and the environment.

Programming is sponsored by Lake Agassiz Regional Library and supported in part or in whole by the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage fund.

ChalkFEST 2010 is a celebration of the Arts for the whole family! Come and watch Art in action as local artists create sidewalk murals. Then, get inspired to make your own and help us decorate the sidewalks all around the library.

Penny and Pals will perform at 2 p.m.

This program is free and designed to encourage children to read over the summer months. Studies show that students who read over the summer are better prepared for school success in the fall. The LARL Summer Reading Program “Make A Splash: READ!” makes summer reading more fun with good books, special events and reading incentives.

Programming is sponsored by Lake Agassiz Regional Library and supported in part or in whole with money from Minnesota’s Arts & Cultural Heritage fund.
