MAY is MENTAL HEALTH Month!
This is the seventh of our Wellness Wednesday Series
The presenter for today’s topic will be Janet Denison from the Northwestern Mental Health Center in Crookston MN. http://www.nwmhc.org/
“Everyone would benefit from some counseling therapy at some point in life,” stated a wise counseling professor, Dr. Stan Lindquist. He was right. Janet Denison, Director of Outpatient Services at the Northwestern Mental Health Center, will lead this interactive presentation and discussion of what really happens when people enter into a counseling relationship. This presentation will help to de-mystify counseling services and identify what makes them successful and why so many people benefit from them.
Along with counseling therapy, Janet will briefly describe other services available, such as child and family services, assessment services, and crisis services. Attendees will understand how counseling works, who might benefit from counseling, why counseling should not be scary for people considering it, and how to initiate services if needed.
