This is the fifth of our Wellness Wednesday Series
The presenter for today’s topic will be Jim Schober from the Northwestern Mental Health Center in Crookston MN. http://www.nwmhc.org/
Jim Schober provides crisis services for adults and children across the region as well as counseling and assessment services at the Northwestern Mental Health Center. Extending from his school-based services experiences, Jim has provided a suicide awareness and response training for high school students and staff for several years. Jim will bring this rich experience into the Library to help shed light on the difficult topic of suicide awareness and response.
Learn the common warning signs of a deeply depressed and/or suicidal person, tips for responding appropriately, and about the array of services available across the community and the region to help someone struggling with suicidal thoughts. If you know someone who has or may have had thoughts of self-harm, this information will be useful, and is presented in a non-technical and comfortable format including discussion and questions.
