Author Marya Hornbacher to Present May 18 (In-Person & Virtual Event)

Award-winning author and journalist Marya Hornbacher will join Lake Agassiz Regional Library for an inspiring one-day residency focused on mental health and the real possibility of mental health recovery. Marya will discuss her bestselling memoir, Madness, and will share her experience of being nearly beaten by, but ultimately triumphing over, severe and persistent mental illness. Audience members can expect to receive an expanded understanding of different mental illnesses, what they feel like and how to be supportive to people who have them.
Marya’s residency will be held May 18, 2021 and will feature in-person events at the Detroit Lakes Public Library (10:30 AM, 1000 Washington Ave.) and the Moorhead Public Library (7 PM, 118 5th St. S). The evening presentation will be streamed live on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library Facebook page which will be available at 7 PM.
Both the in-person events and the virtual presentation are offered free-of-charge with no registration required, with limited in-person attendance.
