Detroit Lakes Public Library Announces Book Bike Project

The Detroit Lakes Public Library is pleased to announce a new project on the horizon! The library has commissioned a custom-built book bike, which will pop-up around the Detroit Lakes-area this summer, bringing librarians and library materials and services to farmers markets, senior living facilities, daycares and more.

This project has gotten a wonderful boost thanks to a number of dedicated community supporters, as well as a $5,000 grant from the Detroit Lakes Area Community Project. However, additional funding is needed. Use the form below to donate to help the library reach it’s goal.

A Spin-a-thon Fundraiser is scheduled at the library on March 13, and the library is seeking volunteers to pedal on a stationary bike and collect pledges. The top fundraiser will win a Little Free Library filled with books. To learn more about the Spin-a-thon, please call the library at 218-847-2168.

All library location closed after 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 24 and closed Wednesday, December 25 in observance of the holiday.
