Lasagna Means I Love You by Kate O’Shaughnessy
Eleven year old Mo’s life is upended when her Nan passes away and she enters foster care. She discovers a handmade cookbook filled with family recipes and teaches herself how to make them. Finding comfort in the recipes, as well as the stories behind them, Mo begins gathering recipes from everyone she meets. She builds a website to share the recipes that she has collected while secretly hoping that a long lost relative will find her.
Lasagna Means I Love You is a poignant, tender story about family and belonging. Though intended for a middle school audience, this story will resonate with adults as well and is the perfect book to read together as a family.
