Detroit Lakes Library Announces Free Series on Mindfulness

The Detroit Lakes Public Library will host a series of workshops which will help attendees develop mindfulness. These events are offered free of charge and will be led by certified integrative nutrition coach Kelsey Juhnke.
All events will be held at the Detroit Lakes Public Library, 1000 Washington Ave. The first event will focus on journaling and will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 7 p.m.

Journaling: Tuesday, January 7, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00pm

Journaling is a great way to reduce stress. If you are not sure where to start,  join us to learn the art and benefits of journaling. Please bring a journal or notebook to write in.

Breathing: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00pm
Join us to learn about reducing stress and increasing focus with mindful breathing. Please bring something comfortable to sit on, such as a pillow or blanket.Meditation: Tuesday, February 4, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00pm
Come unwind with us as we learn about meditation, which is a natural way to reduce anxiety and improve sleep quality.  Please bring something comfortable to sit on, such as a pillow or blanket.Stretching and Yoga: Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00pm

Whether you are a beginner or regular yoga practitioner, join us in this free yoga class.  Please bring a yoga mat if you have one or a large towel, and wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move in.

Bringing It All Together: Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 7:00 – 8:00pm
Combine everything you have learned about a mindful life and learn how to fully integrate these techniques in your daily life.

All locations will be closed on Monday, November 11 in observance of Veterans Day
