The Detroit Lakes Public Library staff and director Greta Guck have been awarded a 2020 Splash Award by the Detroit Lakes Regional Chamber of Commerce! The library has been named the year’s Ripple Award winner, which recognizes a club, group or non-profit that motivated the people around them to be engaged and contributing members of the community through services, making a ripple in the region.

The library is credited with bringing innovation and positivity to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We’d also like to congratulate Terry Kalil, LARL’s Executive Board President, for winning the Accelerator Award! The Accelerator Award recognizes an individual who motivates their friends, colleagues, family and community to get involved.
