Pumpkin Decorating Contests

Ada Literary Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Get into the Halloween spirit by decorating a pumpkin to look like your favorite book character.

Submit Entries:

Entries will be accepted on October 12th and 13th during open library hours. Voting starts on October 17th and will end at noon on October 20th. The winners will be notified on the 20th. Entries can be taken home after 12:00 PM on October 20th. Any entries not picked up by close on October 24 will be discarded.

Barnesville Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Enter a pumpkin (real or artificial) in our Library Pumpkin Contest, decorated as your favorite literary or film character.

Submit Entries:

Bring your entry to the library between October 19-21; community members are invited to visit the library and vote on their favorites from October 24-27. There will be different age categories and prizes will be awarded on October 28. If you wish to keep your entry, please pick it up before October 31. Any entry left after October 31 will be disposed of.

Breckenridge Spooky Lantern Make and Take

Bring the family for a night of fun at the Breckenridge Public Library! Make and decorate a Halloween or Fall themed lantern, enjoy some treats, and have some fun. Supplies on a first come basis. All ages and families are welcome.

Crookston Halloween Mask Decorating

Celebrate spooky season by joining the Crookston Library and creating your own Halloween mask.

Celebrate Halloween with your library! Join us in the Storytime area to decorate your very own Halloween mask. Then, you’ll be all set to head out and trick-or-treat. Supplies will be provided; this program is offered free-of-charge and is geared for children under 10.

Fertile Storytime

Help your child develop exceptional reading skills by bringing them to Storytime. This week’s theme is Halloween!

Each week, we explore different themes with stories, songs, rhymes, flannel boards, special guests and more! Storytime typically lasts for 45 minutes and is geared for children ages 3-6, although children of all ages are welcome to join the fun.

Scavenger Hunts

Detroit Lakes Halloween Scavenger Hunt

Beloved book characters are hiding in costumes all around the Detroit Lakes Library. Stop in on Halloween Day to find them all and win a prize! Appropriate for ages 3 and up.

Visit the Detroit Lakes Public Library anytime from 9 AM to 7 PM to hunt for book characters hidden around the library. Find them all to win a prize.

Hawley Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Stop by the Hawley Library for a scavenger hunt and receive a treat!

It’s Halloween! Bring your ghouls and goblins to the Hawley Library to take part in a Halloween themed scavenger hunt! Find all items to receive a prize.

 

 

All library location closed after 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 24 and closed Wednesday, December 25 in observance of the holiday.
