Lake Agassiz Regional Library Receives Donation of 300 New Kids Books

The Lake Agassiz Regional Library has received 300 new books for children thanks to a donation from the Brownstone Book Fund, a private foundation in New York City which is invested in fostering early reading, a love of books, and encouraging parents and children to read together. The donations were made to the library system’s three largest locations in Moorhead, Detroit Lakes and Crookston, and include beloved children’s book titles such as Make Way for DucklingsCaps for SaleGuess How Much I Love You and Madeline, among many others.

“We are grateful to the Brownstone Book Fund for their commitment to fostering early reading in Minnesota,” said Liz Lynch, Executive Director of Lake Agassiz Regional Library. “Their generosity supports Lake Agassiz Regional Library’s commitment to encouraging early literacy through the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program.” 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten encourages parents and caregivers to read to their children 1,000 times before they enter kindergarten, creating a foundation of lifetime learning.
