Live! “Stringing Rosaries” With Author Denise Lajimodiere

Author and educator Denise Lajimodiere will go live on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library Facebook page to share the stories of Indigenous children who were removed from their families and placed in American Indian boarding schools from the late 1800s through the 1970s.

Lajimodiere traveled to Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota, interviewing survivors, which resulted in the publication of her book, “Stringing Rosaries.” The book presents a brief history of the boarding school programs for Indigenous Americans followed by sixteen interviews with boarding school survivors and ending with the author’s own healing journey with her father.

Join us Thursday, July 16 from 7 PM – 8 PM on the Lake Agassiz Regional Library Facebook page.

This event is made possible thanks to funding from the Minnesota Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund.

All library location closed after 12 p.m. Tuesday, December 24 and closed Wednesday, December 25 in observance of the holiday.
