Resources for homeschoolers

Lake Agassiz Regional Library offers a broad range of resources for those pursuing alternative schooling paths for their children. Homeschoolers, unschoolers and more can check out up to 100 books per card, which is useful for families seeking educational materials for learners. Plus, we offer access to several databases that help with learning. Explore the catalog.

Books, movies, and more!

LARL’s collection of books, movies, and more is shared between 22 locations. Simply place a hold on any item in our system and you can pick it up at your home library as soon as it is available. We also share a catalog with Northwest Regional Library and you can request their items to be picked up locally the same way.

Check out our collection of eBooks and eAudiobooks.

Need a title we don’t have?

You can request items from most of the libraries in the state of Minnesota using inter-library loan through MNLINK.  MNLINK allows you to search all the library catalogs at once. Once you’ve found what you need, you can request it using your library card barcode number and select which of our locations you’d like to check it out at.

If you’d like us to add a title to our collection, you can  fill out a purchase request form which will be submitted to collection development for consideration.

Online research and learning

Your family has access to a variety of online research tools that assist in research and learning through the Electronic Library of Minnesota (ELM). ELM lets you easily select which research tool would be best depending on your topic, grade level, or the content type you are looking for. Use ELM to discover the variety of research tools and databases available for you to access free of charge.
