Moorhead Public Library Hosting Filmmaker Presentation, Film Screening of “Iwo Jima: 50 Years of Memories”
The Moorhead Public Library will host two events featuring the 1996 film, “Iwo Jima: 50 Years of Memories.” A screening of the film will be held on Thursday, February 10 at 7 p.m., with a presentation by “Iwo Jima” Filmmaker Dean Henney the following week on Thursday, February 17 at 6 p.m. Henney will share about his experience creating the film, which tells the story of one of the last major battles of World War II told entirely through the voices of American servicemen who survived and were interviewed 60 years after the conflict ended. The film was originally broadcast on PBS.
Free copies of the film are available to pick up at the Moorhead Public Library and other Lake Agassiz Regional Library locations.
Both events will be held at the Moorhead Public Library which is located at 118 5th St. S. No registration is required and the programs will be offered free-of-charge.
