Support MN Libraries with the Great North Star Read Together

Minnesotans are invited to gather at participating libraries across the state to show support for libraries and the vital role they play in our communities, creating a statewide show of appreciation.

Read-in celebrations are scheduled at the following locations, with a full list of participating libraries found here.

Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Moorhead Public Library
The Moorhead Public Library will host a reading party and invites local library supporters to join us for some peaceful reading time! Find a spot in the grass outside the library, or come inside to read in a meeting room with a little background music from the Kringen Accordion Band, which will be playing at the library from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Detroit Lakes Public Library
Join the Detroit Lakes Public Library for a “read-out,” including reading time alongside other library supporters on the lawn outside the library. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chair or blanket.

Saturday, September 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Crookston Public Library
You are invited to gather for a read-in event at the Crookston Public Library with activities including a presentation highlighting the library services and resources you may not be aware of, an open Mic Session inviting library supporters to share why they love their library and refreshments.

The Great North Star Read Together is a collaborative effort of library supporters from the Minnesota Library Association, CRPLSA, the Multicounty Multitype Library Systems, Minitex, MELSA, and ITEM.
