    6 – 7 p.m.

Moorhead Public Library -118 5th St S, Moorhead, MN 56560

Join the Moorhead Public Library for “The Holocaust After The Diary of Anne Frank: Narratives from the Transit Camps to the Crematoria,” a presentation by Adam Goldwyn, Ph.D. letters written during the Holocaust.

The diary of Anne Frank was written when she was hiding from the Nazis in Amsterdam. However her diary does not show the six months between her capture in November of 1944 and her death six months later in Bergen-Belsen. This presentation will examine other sources written during the Holocaust by Jewish men and women who, like Anne, did not survive, but show what it was like to live in the transit camps, cattle cars and concentration camps.

Holocaust Remembrance Day is an international memorial day on January 27th that commemorates the victims of the Holocaust, which resulted in the genocide of one third of the Jewish people, along with countless members of other minorities by Nazi Germany between 1933 and 1945.  January 27th was chosen to commemorate the date when the Auschwitz concentration camp was liberated by the Red Army in 1945.
