Set during the 1960s, the story centers on Frances “Frankie” McGrath a young nursing student who joins the Army Nurse Corps during the Vietnam War. It is a dramatic coming of age story that does not shy away from discussing the destruction and trauma caused by war. Though The Women is the story of one woman, it is in many ways a tribute to all the female heroes of the Vietnam War.
